First Announcement
Conference goals: The conference will highlight important recent advancements in many-valued logics and their applications to cognition. It aims to bring together researchers working in these research fields, foster a greater degree of communication among the featured research communities, and provide the impetus for new directions of research.
Call for papers: We invite contributions concerning applications of mathematical methods to philosophical problems. Especially, but not exclusively, we invite contributions on:
- Many-valued logics and their applications
- Fuzzy logic and its applications
- Paraconsistent logics
- Vagueness
- Logical systems of cognitive science, especially those utilizing methods of fuzzy and many-valued logics.
Invited speakers: Honorary Guest: Lotfi Zadeh (Berkeley); Arnon Avron (Tel-Aviv), Chunnian Liu (Beijing), Jacek Malinowski (Warsaw/Torun), Daniele Mundici (Firenze), Rohit Parikh (New York), Wujia Zhu (Nanjing).

Deadline: Please send an abstract not exceeding 2 pages to Jacek Malinowski jacekm@uni.torun.pl not later than April 1, 2007. Abstracts must be submitted as Latex or MS Word files. Authors will be notified about acceptance before May 15, 2007.
Fees and Payments: Conference fee: Euro 300/USD 375. The fee covers accommodation in hotel (5 nights, single room with bathroom), meals during the conference, a one-day tour around Guangzhou and conference materials. The fee for an accompanying person /student is Euro 200/USD 250. Scholars who are not able to get sufficient support from their home sources are encouraged to apply for reduced conference fee by writing to the organizers. The fee does not include any form of insurance. Conference participants as well as accompanying persons are therefore responsible for making own insurance arrangements.Euro 320. It covers accommodation in hotel (4 nights, single room with bathroom), breakfasts and lunches during the conference, garden party on Saturday, a guided tour around Torunian old town on Sunday and conference materials. The fee for an accompanying person is Euro 200. Scholars who are not able to get sufficient support from their home sources are encouraged to apply for reduced conference fee by writing to the organizers.
